It finally arrived! After months of contemplation, a few websites vetted, user fees paid, consultations had, and insurance claimed, I received my first shipment of Ozempic. I’ll explain the journey later, but today it’s about the actual drug!

So for those of you who are new to Ozempic and GLP-1 agonists, the first thing to know is that there are a LOT of scams online. Many Redditors will prove that they receive counterfeit pens, usually containing insulin. So make sure you get yours from a legit source. This is the Canadian box.
I debated whether or not to start it or wait but in the end there was no time like the present. So, Friday evening I took my first dose.

First step was to open the box and pen and make sure the liquid was clear. Then after putting on the needle, to perform a drop test – tiny clicks to make sure the pen was flowing. After that, dial up to the starter dose (usually 0.25mg) and a tiny prick later it was in.
And nothing happened.
Which is a good thing! No bruising or anything. Pen and kit back in the fridge and onwards. That evening I felt fine, no real symptoms. Next post will be about the first meal. Until next time!
